Acquisition of Information Literacy Skills in Libraries through ICT Utilization

Information and Communication Technologies (1CTs) have brought about a lot of changes which have equally changed the traditional roles in providing services in libraries. As new systems and methods of storing and disseminating information resources are evolving, users need to be adequately taught and familiarized with basic skills to access information in libraries. Information literacy is an educational as well as a social concept that is gaining grounds as we become more immersed in the ā€œinformation age The paper examines and underscores the new roles libraries must perform in order to enhance digital literacy.
