An Assessment of Primary School Pupils’ Possession of Reading Materials

The study was designed to investigate primary school pupils’ possession of reading materials. Three research questions were raised to direct the study. The sample of the study consisted of one hundred (100) primary school teachers drawn from ten (10) primary schools in Benin City. The instrument was a questionnaire which sought information on the variables under study. Based on the findings it was recommended that NERDC should produce good quality low:priced books in large quantities to be sold at low prices. Boys should be encouraged to procure their reading materials for their psychological and professional development.
