Abstract
The paper examines the use of the television in delivering literacy classes in Kaduna State. A total do 13 questionnaires were returned. Out of which. 540 claimed to be regular or occasional viewers. Frequencies and percentages were used in analysing the data. Findings show respondents” satisfaction with most of the variables in terms of relevance of content. understandability. timing of broadcast. etc. It is therefore recommended that state governments and broadcast organizations should explore the potential of television as a medium in tackling the problem of illiteracy in our country.
