CAMEROONS BILINGUAL POLICY AND LITERACY ENSTRUCTHON: A UNIQUE EXPERIMENT IN A MULTILINGUAL SOCIETY

Introduction

The constitution of Cameroon leaves no one in doubt as to the privileged position given to English and French in that country. Cameroon’s bilingual policy in education in this circumstance therefore derives from its constitutional provision as stated in Article 1 (5) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Cameroon. September 1961.
