STUDENTS’ MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT SOME ASPECTS OF BIOLOGY: TEACHER’S LANGUAGE DEFICIENCY AS THE CULPRIT.

This paper examined 51 Science teachers using on observation schedule. Their language problems which were related to their literacy level was established. It was found that the two most common errors were those of spelling and pronunciation of terminologies. For these reasons students ended up with misconception and luck of proper understanding of biological concepts. Suggestions are then proffered to improve proficiency level of science teachers.
