Voices from Africa on literacy for the attainment of sustainable development: An Overview

Abstract
Development is achievable and sustainable through literacy. Africa has lagged behind in both. To improve living conditions and make life worth living for Africans, the achievement and sustenance of functional and lifelong literacy is  a necessity in national development and nation building. Voices from Africa on Literacy for the Attainment of Sustainable Development addresses diverse issues on literacy as the fulcrum of sustainable development. The book of readings denotes advances being made in the African literacy landscapes, suggesting that African scholars are coming to grips with Africa’s literacy situation.
