CREATIVITY AND PLAY: A VIABLE MEANS OF LITERACY DEVELOPMENT

This paper is out to highlight creativity as a means of making the child and every individual to develop intellectually especially in the area of literacy genre. The focus is therefore centered on the five year old children, an age of foundation in this aspect. The teacher here has a great role to play since he has to encourage these pupils to open up their minds in order to bring out the talent, which could die off if not activated. Emphases are therefore laid on play since it is a way of enhancing the aims of education through which the child can attain a level of self actualization.
