Developing Creative Thinking Through Selected Language Materials For Reading Comprehension

This paper focuses on reading at the creative level. Fifty students from two selected Secondary Schools in Kwara State were randomly selected! for the study.Two tests were administered to the subjects and their responses were in essay form.The subjects were scored based on a list of pro-determined aspects of creativity.Frequency counts were calculated and t—test statistics was used to determine significant differences in the patterns and creativity exhibited by the subjects.Findings from this study reveal low level of creativity demonstrated by the subjects generally. Pedagogical implications are discussed.
